Stone Wheel Glass Cutting or Engraving Lathes

Any type of glass engraving lathe is rather difficult to find. I am selling off several machines that I no longer require for the type of work that I am currently doing. All of these stone wheel lathes can be utilized for creating the "cuts" on cut glass, monogram work, repair work, and even beveling of glass. As these machines sell, I shall keep them on this web page as reference material for anyone wanting to see what the equipment looks like.

Note: All of these machines have been sold.

Lathe #4:

This heavy duty glass American Style cutting and engraving lathe was made by Sommer and Maca. It has a 3/4" threaded shaft for stone wheels and a larger 1 1/4" threaded shaft for a 12" polishing wheel. Some engravers place a cork wheel on this end and rub a wax crayon on the wheel for marking the glass prior to engraving. Spindle extensions could easily be machined for smaller wheels or special applications. The machine features oil cups and a 4 step pulley.

SOLD

The heavy babbitt bearings are in excellent condition.
